The Society now makes very few grants for individuals. Applications will be considered only if the individual meets the following criteria:

• He or she is attending an institution in the UK and is in the final stages of an initial teacher training course.
• He or she is intending to pursue a career in teaching and, in the case of a student from a developing country, is intending to return to his/her home country to teach after completing the course or gaining Qualified Teacher Status.
• He or she embarked on the course with appropriate financial support arrangements in place and has run into financial difficulties for reasons outside his/her control.

Any grant that may be agreed by the Society will be paid to the student’s university/college, through whom any application should be submitted, and not to the individual concerned. Students who meet the criteria should click here for a form and submit it through their university or college.
